Endocarditis

You may be familiar with sinus or ear infections, but did you know you can get a heart infection?  H.R. Vikram, M.D., an infectious diseases specialist at Mayo Clinic says endocarditis refers to an infection of the inner lining of the heart and the cardiac valves.  It can be treated, but first it must be discovered.
