On Saturday, Nov. 23, Jeffrey Thompson, M.D., will join us to discuss fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain in addition to fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals. What are the symptoms? Is there a cure?

We hope you will join us.

Myth or Fact:  Fibromyalgia is a “woman’s disease.”

In the video below, Dr. Thompson provides an overview of the condition.

Note: You can hear the program LIVE Saturdays at 9 am CT on I Heart Radio via KROC AM. The show is taped for rebroadcast by some affiliates. On Twitter follow #MayoClinicRadio and tweet your questions.
