Thank you for your comment, and I’m sorry to hear that your treatment did not go well. Would you like to talk to someone in the Office of Patient Affairs? The number in Rochester is Minnesota: 507-284-4988.

In September 2009 I had decided to have the other breast removed and have reconstruction done. What happened after has been a two year ordeal that I finally found a doctor outside of the Mayo system who could diagnose in 15 minutes of talking to me and can also fix what was done to me by my plastic surgeon at Mayo Clinic Eau Claire, during this time I also seen a plastic surgeon in Rochester and he said he could do nothing for me either. And that does not even mention me developing lymphedema after my surgery to place my implants which I was not banded for lymphedema precautions. This has been a loonnnggg nightmare but thankfully it will have a happy ending but with no help from the Mayo Clinic plastic surgeons.

From there, you can see everything from treatment to how to request an appointment.

Recurrent rectal cancer especially this close to primary therapy needs
to be quickly and aggressively evaluated and treated. There are more
advanced medical therapies including the use of biologic agents which
are extremely effective. We have a very large experience with the
management of recurrent rectal cancer with a focus on a multi-
disciplinary integrated approach. I would recommend an appointment in
our GI medical oncology group as the best starting point for this
complex problem.
