Increasing Safety of Stem Cell Therapy

Mayo Clinic researchers have found a way to detect and eliminate potentially troublemaking stem cells to make stem cell therapy safer. The findings, published in the October issue of STEM CELLS Translational Medicine, outlines a strategy to make stem cell therapies safer for patients while preserving their therapeutic efficacy. Stem cell therapy is one of many regenerative strategies being studied at Mayo Clinic's Center for Regenerative Medicine.  Read entire news release.
