Lupus. It’s one of those scary diseases you may have heard of, but have no idea what it is.  An estimated 1.5 million Americans have it and struggle to maintain quality of life despite potentially devastating complications. Five percent of patients will die within five years of their diagnosis, but that's 10 times better than the survival rate a few decades ago, so there is hope.
