Lynch Syndrome runs in my family as well and I just had my first colonoscopy a few months ago. Even though my mom tested negative for Lynch, after finding 7 polyps my gastroenterologist was concerned enough he sent my biopsies off to Mayo for testing. Everything came back fine and now I’ll just have to have regular follow up colonoscopies.

The key thing though is for people to know if there’s a family history and get tested early. I’m not quite 40 and a day of discomfort is better than the alternative.
