Mayo Clinic PathWays: What’s the diagnosis?
This week's case reviews the lower back wound of a 35-year-old man who suffered massive trauma in a motor vehicle accident approximately 15 years ago, including a degloving injury of his left torso with subsequent necrotizing soft tissue infection. Despite multiple skin graft revisions and debridements, a wound persisted over the ensuing years. He presented for an additional debridement procedure.
