Last week, National Public Radio aired a special series called "Worm Week," so, this week, Mayo Clinic microbiologist Dr. Bobbi Pritt is revisiting a wormy post from several years ago on her Parasite Wonders blog. The patient is a 27-year-old woman with anemia, bilateral pedal edema extending to her knees, and a history of "vomiting a worm." What is it?

Every week, Dr. Pritt posts a new case, along with the answer to the previous case. Read Dr. Pritt's blog, Parasite Wonders, and submit your answers, comments and questions. Learn more about Dr. Pritt's work, and enjoy science!
