http://intranet.mayo.edu/charlie/scope-arz/2014/10/09/hosiery-change-in-mayo-clinic-dress-code-in-arizona/ Arizona adopted a year round hosiery optional dress code. Could we as well? It was stated in the Q&A library, "We are also aware that there is a pilot occurring right now in Scottsdale related to the wearing of hosiery. We are monitoring that pilot to see what is learned."
Thank you for your comment – the Dress and Decorum Committee is watching the Arizona pilot. At this time, the Rochester-based practice has not made changes to their standards. We will review again in 2015. Thanks again.
I would like to see the Jean day reinstated also, I worked at a place who charged $5.00 and they had random jean day and the money went to the foundation for things the hospital needed.
Rebecca, thank you for your comment. The Dress and Decorum work group did discuss the fund-raising aspect of Jeans Day. Some of the members of the group shared many other creative ways that their departments raise money for good causes, from bake sales to potlucks to contests and many other ideas. The Dress and Decorum work group felt that allowing jeans, even on special days, took away from the professional appearance we wanted to portray as employees of Mayo Clinic.
