Why does Mayo keep pushing exercise as the ‘cure’ when there is none? Yes, Leah is better, but she even says she still has to be very careful and her mother even states that last spring she got sick and had to pull out of the ONE class she was taking and start all over. To me, this is not recovered. Recovered is being back to normal….having to make sure you don’t do ‘too much’ or don’t get sick or nap an hour before you have a class is NOT normal.

I was also diagnosed by the Mayo Clinic. Thank you so much for this article. Just hearing a very familiar story with hope and success! I have also found exercise (only swimming for me, hard time walking) a strict healthy diet and the daily support from both my husband and our 8 year old, has been the most effective “medicine”.

Leah, I am so proud of you!! Good work!
Thank you to the Mayo Clinic for providing the answers so many of us are searching for!
