So all of Mayo is celebrating "National Wear Red Day", with pictures, a 1-mile walk, lighting of the Mayo Hospital, in Phoenix, photo booths, and chef demonstrations….buy the "Desk" employees can't wear any red, what-so-ever….Due to – The Dress and Decorum Committee has received multiple requests on policy exception for participation in other recognition days. An exception to the Dress and Decorum policy for National Wear Red Day, while denying exceptions for other causes, risks bias. As a result, exceptions to the Dress and Decorum policy are not made for National Wear Red Day or other recognition days. That's like taking your child to a Birthday Party, but not letting them join in on the activities, or letting them have a piece of cake.

Mayo Clinic is observing National Wear Red Day, but just aren't allowing the wearing of red? Makes sense to me. Not…

It's like having half the team show up in uniform , and the other half sits on the bench. Think about it, what's the harm.

Yes my thoughts exactly. I am a Clinical Assistant and because it is not in our dress/ decorum policy we can not participate. Which I don't understand because it is only one day where we can participate and wear red in support, we are not wearing it everyday. Maybe someday, someone will be on the dress/decorum team and support the right for desk personnel to be able to be included in these days.

First the post that says we can't celebrate National Wear Red Day followed a couple days later that says we're celebrating National Wear Red Day. Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing? This makes no sense!

We took a picture but our #MayoWearRed sign got cutoff and we cant take another picture- can we still submit our picture? NWWI
