Sun protection is for all seasons: Mayo Clinic Radio Health Minute

While you may associate sunscreen with summer activities, Mayo Clinic dermatologist Dr. Dawn Davis says the protective lotion is something that should be part of a year-round routine.

“You protect your eyes and your teeth and your organs 12 months of a year, and the skin should be no different," says Dr. Davis. "From a practical standpoint, sunscreen with [a sun protection factor, or SPF rating] of 15 should be a bare minimum for daily use.”
