Treating Liver Disease With Magnetic Resonance Elastography (pkg)
May 2, 2012
Thousands of people are diagnosed with liver diseases every year. For instance, Hepatitis C is a virus that can cause the liver to become damaged and stiff through a process called fibrosis. Previously the only way to test for this condition was with a needle biopsy. However, researchers at Mayo Clinic have developed a new technology called magnetic resonance elastography (MRE). Vivien Williams has this report on treating liver disease noninvasively with MRE. [TRT 2:36]
