ROCHESTER, Minn. — Mayo Clinic announces a new version of its Spanish website, designed to offer visitors streamlined navigation and significantly more resources. The redesigned site incorporates patient stories, disease and treatment information, as well as informative videos.
"The new site has been improved in ways that we hope will better serve those who are considering seeking medical care at Mayo Clinic. Most importantly, it allows patients to share their personal experiences at Mayo Clinic," explains Dr. Mikel Prieto, Director of the International Office. "The new site reflects the long history and strong ties between Mayo Clinic and Spanish-speaking patients around the world," he adds.
The new website (www.mayoclinic.org/es) contains all details regarding requesting an appointment, arranging for travel and accommodation, and obtaining information regarding costs and health insurance.
Visitors can also learn about Mayo Clinic's free medical translation and interpretation services available for all patients.
The redesign of the website will permit Mayo Clinic to continuously add content, including additional disease and treatment information, more patient stories and new videos with Mayo Clinic physicians.
Mayo Clinic also offers information in Spanish on its Facebook page and a Spanish Twitter account @ClinicaMayo. Additionally, Mayo Clinic provides patients and physicians with the chance to connect with others in an online community (www.mayoclinic.org/conectar). Mayo Clinic's YouTube channel is another source of information offering Hispanic physician and patient videos regarding a range of disease and treatments.
