• Foundation Health Partners joins Mayo Clinic Care Network

Foundation Health Partners

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Foundation Health Partners and Mayo Clinic announced today that the Fairbanks-based health care system is the newest member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, a network of like-minded organizations committed to serving their patients and enhancing the delivery of care through collaboration.

Foundation Health Partners is the first Mayo Clinic Care Network member in Alaska. The formal agreement promotes a close clinical relationship that focuses on sharing knowledge and expertise so that more patients can stay close to home for care, avoiding unnecessary travel and gaining additional peace of mind.

Foundation Health Partners operates Tanana Valley Clinic, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center in Fairbanks. As a member of the care network, Foundation Health Partners providers now can use a variety of Mayo Clinic resources to enhance their care of patients, including:

  • AskMayoExpert
Review Mayo-vetted information on care guidelines, treatment recommendations and medical reference information at the point of care.
  • eConsults
Consult electronically with Mayo Clinic specialists on patient care questions.
  • eBoards
Interact with a multidisciplinary panel of Mayo specialists and other network members via live video conference to discuss the management of complex cases.
  • Health Care Consulting
Gain access to Mayo Clinic’s practical experience and subject matter expertise for learning and meeting specific organizational objectives.

Foundation Health Partners’ staff also will have access to Mayo Clinic’s extensive library of patient education materials, professional development events and programs, and archived grand rounds of presentations by Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists.

“Our relationship with Mayo Clinic Care Network is based on our commitment to provide quality medical care,” says Greg Johnson D.D.S., CEO, Foundation Health Partners. “Having Mayo’s vast resources and expertise available to us through this relationship helps ensure our patients, physicians, nurses and staff have access to the highest level of medical knowledge available.”

“Foundation Health Partners is excited to have this relationship with Mayo Clinic,” says Jeff Cook, president, Foundation Health Partners.  “The advantage of being an independent health system is that we can seek out and collaborate with the best resources – such as this arrangement with Mayo – to provide enhanced patient care in Fairbanks and for interior Alaska.”

“As a community-owned and -operated organization, Foundation Health Partners puts patient need at the center of everything it does,” says Mark V. Larson M.D., medical director, Midwest region, Mayo Clinic Care Network. “This collaboration is an example of that commitment and responsiveness to its patients and community. We are pleased to welcome Foundation Health Partners into the care network.”

Foundation Health Partners remains independent but shares Mayo Clinic’s commitment to improve the quality and delivery of health care. Launched in 2011, the Mayo Clinic Care Network has more than 40 members across the U.S., and in Mexico, Philippines, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
