When Corinne was 6 years old, she was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a childhood cancer of the bone marrow. Corinne's parents, Mike and Deb Watters, learned the cancer was in her hip and leg. Treatment would include chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, then surgery, followed by more chemo. When dealing with a procedure of this magnitude, Mike and Deb knew that it was crucial not only to get a second option but even a third or fourth.
Mayo Clinic is dedicated to helping children like Corinne. This Saturday, representatives from 15 different Mayo Clinic specialty pediatric groups will be in the Rotunda at the Mall of America leading educational activities about how kids and their families can lead more healthy lifestyles.
