Some symptoms that require immediate medical attention may seem obvious, including chest pain, sudden loss of vision or speech, and severe abdominal pain. But with more subtle symptoms, it can be hard to know what to do.

A fever may be a normal reaction to a vaccination or a sign your body is fighting off a virus — or it may signal an infection, tuberculosis or a malignant tumor.
