Handwashing 101: Tips on Proper Technique
It takes less than a minute, fights off infection and anyone can do it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says handwashing is the best way to get rid of germs, stay healthy and prevent the spread of germs to others. Handwashing can guard against the cold and flu, and it also can protect you from foodborne illnesses. Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program registered dietitian Angie Murad says whether working in the kitchen or at the office, handwashing is definitely your first defense against illness.
