Mayo Clinic has opened a second location to collect specimens for COVID-19 testing for patients who are unable to travel to the Mayo Clinic drive-thru location at Mayo Family Clinic Northwest. The new specimen collection location, which is called the Downtown Evaluation Center Mobile Unit, is in a Mayo Clinic parking lot at the corner of Third Street Southwest and Third Avenue Southwest.
Patients are required to have a screening first to determine if testing is appropriate. Patients should not visit a Mayo Clinic specimen collection site without an appointment.
If a care provider recommends testing based on screening, patients will be directed to the appropriate location for specimen collection. If test results are negative, patients will receive a message through Patient Online Services. If test results are positive, patients will be contacted by a Mayo Clinic provider.
