Mayo Clinic congratulates Bahrain on 50th anniversary
ROCHESTER, Minn. ― Mayo Clinic extends its good wishes to the people of Bahrain on the celebration of Bahrain National Day. Bahrain is marking its golden jubilee: the 50th anniversary of its independence.
The official date of Bahrain’s independence is Dec. 16, 1971.
"Congratulations to all the people of Bahrain on this momentous occasion. We celebrate your pride and accomplishments over the last 50 years," says Mohamad Bydon, M.D., a neurosurgeon and Mayo Clinic executive medical director of academic affairs and the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa regions. "We're pleased to continue to share with you the goal of improving health for all."
Mayo Clinic has a long history of serving patients from the Middle East. The clinic’s founders, brothers William and Charles Mayo, traveled the world to improve care for patients, and today Mayo collaborates internationally to learn from others and share its knowledge and expertise.
