
There's been a lot of hype in the news recently about a medication called metformin and its potential use as an anti-aging therapy. The drug is commonly prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes. Mayo Clinic researchers are studying the medication to see if it can prevent diseases associated with aging such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and cognitive impairment. The goal — to help people stay healthier longer. Reporter Vivien Williams has more.
