As the school year winds down and weather improves, many people take to the highway for road trips. At the same time, many others commute long distances to work. With so many people on the roads, accidents happen.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that there were an estimated 3.9 million emergency department visits for motor vehicle traffic accidents in 2011. Experts at Mayo Clinic want that number to go down.
