• Mayo Clinic reopens orthopedics and sports medicine facility in downtown Minneapolis

Mayo Clinic Square Sports Medicine lobby

MINNEAPOLIS — Mayo Clinic reopened its orthopedics and sports medicine facility at Mayo Clinic Square on Monday, May 4.

The facility, at 600 Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis, had been closed since March 25 in accordance with federal and state orders and guidance for the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now open regular business hours on weekdays.

The facility offers orthopedic surgery, primary care sports medicine (including physical medicine and rehabilitation and family medicine), pediatric orthopedics, radiology, laboratory medicine, dermatology and electromyography, a diagnostic procedure that assesses the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them.

Mayo Clinic has taken steps to make each of its sites a safe place for patients to receive care in the COVID-19 environment. Staff will follow protocols for masking and social distancing. An enhanced cleaning process will be followed at the facility.

Patients should bring their own face mask or covering to wear, if available, and may have only one guest at their appointments. Patients will undergo a standard COVID-19 screening process before they enter the facility.

Mayo Clinic also offers phone and video visits as appropriate.
