• Mayo Clinic Minute: Cold, flu, superbug

a teenage boy in bed looking sick with flu or coldMany Americans are feeling pretty lousy this winter, thanks to a common cold or influenza virus. Of those, a sizable number will seek medical attention to help with symptoms. Antibiotics, which are used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, won't help colds, flu and most sore throats. Mayo Clinic experts says antibiotics are important drugs; however, overuse  has led to antibiotic resistance. Vivien Williams has more with Mayo Clinic infectious diseases specialist Dr. Pritish Tosh.
