The ongoing safety of patients, staff and the community is one of Mayo Clinic's primary areas of focus during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the current community spread in Arizona, coupled with the upcoming holidays and Mayo's efforts to keep staff safe, there will be an update to the visitor policy.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 23, no visitors will be permitted in inpatient or outpatient buildings, including cafes and lobbies. There are policy exceptions for limited circumstances, such as patients who are cognitively impaired, end-of-life situations and companions to pediatric patients.

Patients with upcoming appointments have been notified in a letter about this change.

Outdoor amenities, including restrooms and water stations, and a coffee cart, will be available for family or friends who accompany patients to campus.
