Mayo Clinic Announces Four Performances in March for the Rosemary and Meredith Willson Harmony for Mayo Program

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The public is invited to enjoy four Rosemary and Meredith Willson Harmony for Mayo Program concerts in March. Performances will be on Mondays from 12:10 to 1 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.

The schedule is:

March 4: Café Accordion Orchestra, a French-Bohemian-influenced group, will perform a concert in Barbara Woodward Lips Atrium, subway level, Rochester Methodist Hospital, Charlton Building, 10 Third Ave. NW. Since 1995, Café Accordion Orchestra has delighted audiences in New York's Lincoln Center, Vienna, the Minnesota State Fair, and other venues. Their loungy, eclectic style fuses French flare, Latin heat and Bohemian attitude. Led by Dan Newton on accordion and vocals, Café Accordion has released eight albums including the latest,"Berets and Bongos."

March 11: The Choral Arts Ensemble will perform in Lips Atrium. Led by Artistic Director Rick Kvam, Choral Arts Ensemble is dedicated to the creation and performance of exciting new music as well as the sensitive presentation of masterworks from the Renaissance to the 20th century.

March 18: Dean Magraw will present an original guitar concert in Lips Atrium. This composer and guitarist has recorded and performed solo and with regional ensembles, national performers including Garrison Keillor, and international notables from Japan, India and Ireland.

March 25: The Barley Jacks with Brian Wicklund, an acoustic bluegrass group, will perform a concert in Lips Atrium. These Minnesota-based masters of fiddle, guitar, bass and drum sing original vocals and play exciting instrumentals with musical influences from blues and bluegrass, classical and Celtic, and R&B and bebop.

Sponsored by Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine, the Rosemary and Meredith Willson Harmony for Mayo Program is coordinated by Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester. The series is generously funded by the late Rosemary Willson in memory of her husband, Meredith Willson, who wrote the Broadway musical "The Music Man."
