Mayo Research Adds “New Chapter” to National Geographic’s Everest

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first Americans to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the new National Geographic book, "The Call of Everest" ... has just been released. Conrad Anker led the commemorative Everest expedition last spring and you might remember our Mayo Clinic research team was there, too, studying the climbers! Bruce Johnson, Ph.D., contributed a chapter to the book titled, “Why does a Scientist Transport Hundreds of Pounds of Equipment on the Backs of Yaks and Porters to set up a Research Laboratory on Mt. Everest?”
