
ROCHESTER, Minn. — The medical journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings will mark its 90th anniversary.
WHO: William Lanier, M.D., editor-in-chief of Mayo Clinic Proceedings; Proceedings staff.
WHAT: Dr. Lanier will briefly outline the history of Proceedings, which began on April 21, 1926, as a way for Mayo physicians to exchange information and since has evolved into an international peer-reviewed medical journal that ranks in the top 7 percent of journals of its type. Dr. Lanier will cut a cake decorated with the most recent Proceedings cover and will also take questions from journalists.
WHERE: Proceedings’ office, Mayo Clinic Siebens Building, 7th floor. Journalists should arrive at the Gonda lobby street-level information desk by 10:45 a.m. They will be escorted to Proceedings’ office.
WHEN: Thursday, April 21, 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CT.
