Minnesota Lynx to Play Game in Rochester on Mother’s Day
The three-time WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx will play a preseason game in Rochester's Taylor Arena on Sunday, May 8. The announcement was made at today's news conference featuring Lynx Coach Cheryl Reeve and Lynx star player and Minnesota native Lindsay Whalen, along with Chris Wright, Lynx and Timberwolves president, and Dr. John Wald, who is medical director for Mayo Clinic Public Affairs. Mayo is a presenting sponsor for the event, which falls on Mother's Day.
After the news conference, Reeve and Whalen visited patients at the Mayo Clinic Children's Center and 17-year-old Brooke Phillips held one of their championship rings.
