The National Football League is teaming with leading experts in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and mental health messaging and comunications to launch free, confidential and independently-operated crisis counseling services. It's called the NFL Life Line, and it's designed to support current and former NFL players, coaches, team and league staff, and their family members who may be going through crisis. Individuals can call 1-800-506-0078 (toll free).
Mayo Clinic psychiatrist, Timothy Lineberry, M.D., an expert in suicide prevention, says, “The NFL Life line is important because it’s part of a larger workplace wellness program, and recognizes how important mental health and suicide is as a problem."
