MEDIA ADVISORY:  Mayo Radiation Oncology Center in Northfield Marks Energy, Environmental Certification 

WHAT:  Event to recognize Mayo Clinic Radiation Oncology building in Northfield achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.  

The building, opened in 2011, was designed by LEED-accredited architects and engineers and constructed with geothermal heating and cooling, water-efficient systems, energy and atmosphere design elements, environmentally friendly materials and indoor environmental quality in mind. Center staff members employ green housekeeping and pest management practices such as exclusion and, when necessary, pesticides with the lowest impact on the environment.
